**Official Elves and Pirates Messageboard Rules**

All of the following rules must be folowed by all E&P members. After all, they're not written up for the fun of it.

Basic Rules

[01] Absolutely no racial/ethnic/sexist attacks, pornography, flaming, trolling, et cetera. The tolerance for this kind of behavior is a whopping ze-ro. Violation of this rule will most likely result in banning.

[02] Respect all Mods and members. There are a few exceptions to this, however. If you and a friend are just kidding around and neither one of you is going to get hurt, then it’s fine. Note, though, that sometimes you may hurt someone unintentionally.

[03] Please do not post off topic. We know this can be pretty hard at times, and a few times won’t hurt, but please try not to let it get out of hand. If this is the case, the thread will be locked.

[04] Explicit gore/violence/sex is not usually permitted, unless it is in stories or fanfictions with appropriate ratings. Please note that if a story has explicit sex, it is usually rated NC-17.

ALSO - Warnings for this kind of thing are required. When posting anything that might be offensive to some people, please put a warning in the subject title. More specifically, but not totally limited to:

- Any fanfiction or writing with a rating of R or NC-17.
- Anything (fanfiction, writing, graphics) that contains slash. Now, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against slash (keffkeff, I'm a slash whore, keffkeff). There are others, however, who find the stuff distasteful, so it's just better to put up warnings and avoid any kind of conflict. ^^

[05] If you’re going to start a thread, make sure it’s under the appropriate category. If you’re unsure, start it in the category that you think it best fits under. If, in the end, it doesn’t, or if there’s a more suitable category for it, one of the mods will move it.

[06] Don't start incredibly pointless threads. Once in a while they are acceptable, but not to the point of "I'm bored..." or "Mmm Milkshakes are good" type of thing.

[07] Please, try to refrain from using excessive punctuation and/or smileys. It's not a huge deal, but saying, "OMG!

" is just as effective as saying,"OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

", only a million times less annoying.

[08] No posting in succession. That is, no posting twice in a row or more. If you forgot to add something in a message that you just posted, simply click the modify button of your post ( [image]

) and add whatever it is you forgot to say. Posts like this are usually viewed as a way to increase your post count, and are therefore unacceptable. If you are seen doing this, your posts will be edited. If it has to be done various times, you will be notified with a warning.

[09] Lay off the netspeak. The term 'netspeak' refers to this sort of thing:

omg i kno hez so sexc mayb ill prnt dat pic l8r

The reason for this is that it just makes your posts a million times harder to read and understand. Furthermore, I personally feel as if I'm talking to a computer rather than a human being. So please, try to keep the netspeak down.

If it's something like, "oh yeah i kno! ur right, he was made 4 that role, lol," then that's fine. Substituting "u" for "you", "ur" for "you're, your", using abbreviations like "lol" - those are fine, the reason being that they are pretty easy to understand. If it goes further than that, however, like leaving out vowels or butchering words to the point where one has to strain to understand you, then your posts will probably be modified or you will be issued a small warning via PM.

Also, you have to remember that for some people on the board, English is not their first language. Thus, netspeak is even harder to decipher for them.

[10] On a related note, please, easy on the CAPSLOCK as well, mkay? WHEN YOU TYPE LIKE THIS THE WHOLE TIME, IT MAKES MY HEAD HURT. Also, it's the internet equivalent to yelling, and no one likes that.
